"A portrait of my boy, once a week, every week, in 2014."

Samuel - Riding, exploring, learning..

These autumn afternoons call for breathing in the fresh air and chasing the beautiful, golden light. It's the perfect season to enjoy the outdoors, even if some days it just means playing in the backyard. I'm absolutely loving the perfect weather at the moment, Samuel has been able to get out a load of energy crawling around the yard, finding leaves to taste, climbing on anything within reach. Each day, I'm watching as he gets older, taller, smarter, and I look forward to what lies ahead. And yet, as I do, I can't help but feel a little sad that he's not so tiny anymore, it's a constant reminder of how fleeting each moment is.

Samuel - Breathing in the Autumn air with his Grandma

Is it a new week already? Gosh, time is flying by at the moment, I feel like each time I blink, another month has passed, and I realise that I need to be more present so as not to miss anything. We had a lovely visit to the mountains this weekend, it was an especially cold day and I had to pull out one of Samuel's birthday presents (this snuggly winter coat) to keep him warm as he watched his Daddy and Granddad build a shed in the backyard. Going to mum and Dad's place always feels like home to me, and I hope Samuel feels the same.
